Identity theft is no laughing matter or is it? As identity theft rises, you can leave it to the powers to be in Hollywood to find the humor in something so serious and possibly turn it into a hit comedy film.
Horrible Bosses’ director Seth Gordon and Scott Stuber who produced Ted recruited an all-star cast to tell the tell of the extreme measures a regular guy is forced to after becoming a victim of identity theft. With everything to lose after his identity is stolen, the real Sandy Bigelow Patterson played by Jason Bateman hunts down the female con artist (Melissa McCarthy) who stole his identity and attempts to bribe, coax and wrangle her in an attempt to get his name back. What unfolds is pure comedy.
Identity Theif will not be in theaters until February 8, 2013, but feel free to check out the trailer below for a few laughs. In addition to cast members Jason Bateman (Horrible Bosses) and Melissa McCarthy (Bridesmaids), the Identity Theif cast includes Jon Favreau, Amanda Peet, Tip “T.I.” Harris, Morris Chestnut, and John Cho.
