Every man’s apartment should have a few key staples in it to make the space conducive to his activities. If you just recently moved to a new place and you don’t know what to furnish it with, here are the top essentials that you should get started with.
1. Sofa
The right sofa can set the tone in your apartment. Consider the ambiance you want to go for. Do you want romantic or masculine? Sporty or luxurious? There is no wrong answer here. Take your time deciding on the theme you want because it will dictate how you will decorate the rest of the room.
Aside from aesthetics, you also want comfort. A comfortable sofa goes a long way in creating a mood. It will not only act as a sitting space, you can also nap here, watch shows, play video games, read a book, or bond with friends.
2. Rugs
Rugs might be the last thing on your mind, but they are a staple to every space. For a small fabric, it can have a tremendous impact on how your apartment looks. Also, who doesn’t like the feel of soft fabric on their feet? Look around for patterns you like and be mindful of the size that you get. The right-size rug will pull the room together, making everything look cohesive.
3. Wall art
Wall art is another staple decor that the typical man often misses. For the best-looking space, you want to hang art on your walls. It’s a great way to fill your bare walls and express your personality. It also acts as a great conversation piece in case you bring a date over to your place.
4. Media stand
A media stand should be sturdy and functional enough to accommodate all your media items like the TV, remote control, video game console, headphones, etc. Each man has his own set of toys, so the perfect media stand will vary by person. Again, take your time choosing this furniture because you’ll be looking at it a lot when you’re using your media.
5. Desk
The desk is an area solely dedicated to working. Your desk should be at the right height so you can do your work comfortably. It should also have enough space to hold other items like your planner, coffee, books, etc. Along with your desk should be an ergonomic chair. You might spend long hours in this area, so you want seating that will support the natural curve of your spine.
6. Storage
A man’s apartment should have storage to hide all his clutter. Whether you’re a confessed slob or a neat freak, having several storage solutions will make cleaning up easier. Some good ones to start with include an ottoman, a drawer, under-bed storage, and a bookcase. These will hold all your items in place without looking like a mess.
7. Coffee table
A coffee table goes right in front of your sofa, and it should be versatile enough to support all the activities you do in the living room, whether it’s having a movie marathon with friends or a quiet afternoon drinking coffee by yourself. Whatever it may be, the right coffee table should hold up well and make anything you put on it look even better.
8. Nightstand
A nightstand is a simple way to class up your bedroom. You should have at least one beside your bed with enough space to hold a lamp, an alarm clock, books, etc. It should also have at least one drawer where you can sneak in your more private items.

I agree with most of the things but don’t find them exclusively for men. Am I missing something?
