On June 27, 2013, Justin Moore surprised Gunnery Sgt. Samuel Deeds during an event in Deeds’ hometown of Erlanger, Ky. to announce him as the winner of the annual Crown Royal “Your Hero’s Name Here” program, which awards naming rights to the July NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway to a deserving individual. Moore performed his new song, “Heroes,” written by Greg Bates specifically for the Crown Royal Heroes Project.
