Men’s grooming has come a long way from a bottle of shampoo, a bar of soap, and whatever hair product happened to be sitting on the bathroom counter. While surfing the web recently, we came across PATRICKS, an Australian men’s grooming brand taking a different approach to haircare, styling, skincare, and personal care. The extensive lineup caught our attention first. So did PATRICKS’ focus on performance, testing, formulation, and design.
PATRICKS started in Bondi Beach after founders Patrick and Aimee opened a concept barbershop and began looking for grooming products combining performance and design. Unable to find what they were looking for, the founders decided to develop their own formulas, eventually turning the barbershop into a testing ground where customers could try products and provide feedback. According to PATRICKS, they spent three years on research and development before launching their first products, with the Test Pilot Program continuing as part of the brand’s development process.
More Than Just Shampoo
Hair remains a major part of the PATRICKS lineup, but the brand goes well beyond the standard shampoo-and-conditioner combination. The Starter Thickening Set pairs SH1 Daily Thickening Shampoo with CD1 Stimulating and Thickening Conditioner. PATRICKS designed the set for men concerned about thinning hair. Ingredients include Capixyl, Biochain A, Acetyl Tetrapeptide-3, caffeine, sage, and rosemary.
PATRICKS also offers a 3 Step Hair Loss Treatment built around SH Plus shampoo, CD Plus conditioner, and RD1 Anti Hair Loss Spray. Styling gets plenty of attention too, with products such as M1 Matte Finish, M2 Medium Hold, M3 Strong Hold, FM2.5 Super Matte, and S2 Shine Finish, along with HP1 Hair Powder and SF1 Sea Salt Foam. The range gives men options based on the hold, finish, texture, or volume they want from their hair. Several PATRICKS hair products have hundreds of customer reviews on the brand’s website, giving shoppers plenty of feedback to consider.

Grooming Does Not Stop at Hair
Hair is only one part of the PATRICKS lineup. Its skincare products include cleansers, exfoliators, moisturizers, eye treatments, and complete face systems. One example is the Advanced Face System, which combines four skincare products in a single routine. AM1 Anti-Aging Moisturizer is also available separately, with hyaluronic acid, squalane, creatine, and vitamins C and E among the listed ingredients.
For anyone who does not want a separate bottle for every possible grooming task, BW1 All-In-One Body + Face Wash takes a simpler approach. PATRICKS describes the formula as a body and face wash designed to cleanse, hydrate, and fight body acne, with Salicylic Acid, Vitamins A + C + E, Dragocalm, Flavonoids, Polyphenols, and Anti-Irritants among its listed advanced actives. The 200ML formula also comes in a Bergamot, Cognac & Amber Cologne fragrance that PATRICKS calls its most popular fragrance.
Deodorant gets its own place in the lineup with ND1 High Performance Zero Aluminum Deodorant. The formula is zero-aluminum, with Niodor, Zinc Ricinoleate, Tapioca Starch, and Coconut Oil among its listed key actives. PATRICKS describes the fragrance as a luxury scent and compares its aroma to Tom Ford.

Good Grooming Should Travel
Travel has a funny way of exposing just how many grooming products we use. A normal routine can turn into a suitcase full of shampoo, conditioner, face wash, moisturizer, body wash, styling products, and several little bottles somehow destined to leak inside your toiletry bag. Anyone who has tried to fit a complete grooming routine into a carry-on knows the struggle.
PATRICKS has a dedicated travel section with individual products and bundles, including travel-size versions of several hair and skincare products. Oily Skin Travel Essentials is one of the brand’s travel-focused sets. AM1 Anti-Aging Moisturizer and BW1 All-In-One Body + Face Wash are also available in travel sizes, along with travel versions of several other products.
For guys who spend a lot of time in the air, AL1 Anti Lag takes a different approach with separate AM and PM capsules designed around long-haul travel and jet lag. The AM formula includes Bacopa Monnieri, Panax Ginseng, and L-Theanine, while the PM formula includes Ashwagandha, Passionflower, and L-Theanine. PATRICKS positions the two-part system around fatigue, focus, energy, sleep, and recovery during travel.

Designed With Performance in Mind
Good packaging gets our attention, especially when it looks like something we would actually want sitting on the bathroom counter. PATRICKS has created a consistent visual identity across its haircare, skincare, and personal care products, with the company describing performance and design as part of its original goal.
Design is only one piece of what caught our attention. The Test Pilot Program gives customers a chance to test products and provide feedback before new formulas hit the market. PATRICKS also says hundreds of formulas went into its early research and development before the brand launched its first products.
Haircare, styling, skincare, body care, travel, and performance products may cover very different parts of a man’s routine. PATRICKS approaches each category with the same emphasis on formulation, function, testing, and design. Whether someone wants a few daily essentials or a more involved grooming system, the lineup offers plenty of options.

Worth Knowing About
The packaging may have caught our attention first, but the product range and the approach to development kept us looking. Several of the more established products also have hundreds of customer reviews on the PATRICKS website, with strong overall ratings. For a brand we discovered while surfing the web, there was enough to make us take a closer look.
Since we have not used the products ourselves, we cannot tell you whether PATRICKS is the holy grail of men’s grooming or claim the brand has reinvented the category. PATRICKS has built a broad lineup around a consistent philosophy, and its product development story gives the brand more substance than simply putting attractive packaging around another bottle of shampoo. For men interested in grooming, PATRICKS is a brand worth knowing about.
