5 Drinks to Celebrate Cinco de Mayo

Known as the day U.S. residents celebrate Mexican culture, Cinco de Mayo is all about the drink. In honor of Cinco de Mayo we thought we would bring you 5 drink reciepes that are sure to make you feel good. Just remember, be responsible!

El Chupacabras
½ oz. Patron silver tequila
½ oz. Agavero tequila liqueur
1 splash lemon juice
1 splash lime juice
½ oz. mango juice
1 splash Dr. Pepper Vanilla Soda
1 drop Tapatio hot sauce

Pour mango juice and Dr. Pepper Vanilla into a cocktail glass. In one mixing glass, mix the Patron tequila with lime juice. In another mixing glass, mix Agavero tequila with lemon juice. Pour them both into the cocktail glass. Top with the hot sauce.

The Firecracker
2 ounces Cabo Wabo Blanco
3 dashes of hot sauce
2 small slices of serrano pepper
1 ounce fresh orange juice
½ ounce agave nectar
¾ ounce fresh lime juice
¼ ounce orange Curacao
1 orange twist

Place all ingredients in a shaker with ice, shake vigorously and strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with an orange twist.

Cherry Limeaid
3 teaspoons lime juice
limes, sliced
maraschino cherries
1/2 (2-liter) Sprite or 7-Up or another lemon-lime soda
1 1/2 cup cherry juice
1/2 (10 ounce) can frozen limeaid mix or lime margarita mix
1/4 cup white tequila (optional for adults)

Mix the lemon-lime soda and cherry juice together, blending well. Add 3 teaspoons lime juice to the lemon-lime, cherry mixture. Add a 1/2 can of frozen limeaid or lime margarita mix, and stir. Refrigerate or serve immediately with maraschino cherries and lime wedges. To kick it up for the adults, add 1/4 cup white tequila, stir well and serve. (Makes about four glasses.)

Tequila Sunset
1 ½ ounces Cabo Wabo Blanco
1 ounce pomegranate juice
½ ounce framboise liqueur
¾ ounce fresh lemon juice
½ ounce agave nectar
3 ounces soda water
Lemon twist (garnish)

Place Cabo Wabo, lemon juice and agave nectar in a shaker with ice, shake vigorously and strain over fresh ice into a Collins glass. Stir in soda water and top with Framboise and pomegranate. Mix into drink and serve with a lemon twist.

Mañana Margarita
½ ounce Gran Gala Triple Orange Liqueur
2 ounces Corazón Blanco Tequila
1 ounce fresh lime juice
1 ounce agave nectar (or simple syrup)

Shake together with ice and strain into a Margarita glass. Optional: rub the cut side of a lime on the glass rim and dip it into salt; and add a lime wedge to the rim of the glass as a garnish.

Bonus drink for the day after Cinco de Mayo
Corrido Hangoverita
2 ounces Corrido Cristalino (Blanco)
Juice of 1 lime
4 ounces vegetable juice
Dash Mexican hot sauce
Lime wedge or celery stick for garnish

Mix all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Strain into an ice-filled tall glass. Garnish with lime wedge or celery stick.
