Only in New York will someone pay $69 for a hot dog and $1,000 for an ice-cream sundae! In honor of National Hot Dog Day, Trudy Tant of South Carolina set a Guinness World Record by forking out $69 at Restaurant Serendipity 3 for a foot-long designer frankfurter covered in truffle oil, truffle butter, duck foie gras, mustard, onions and ketchup on a salted pretzel bed.
“It was great. Great flavor,” Tant said
Restaurant Serendipity 3 also holds the record for the world’s most expensive ice-cream sundae ($1,000) and the largest hot chocolate (four gallons, 15 liters).
Hmmm… I am sure if she made her way to Coney Island she could have had a better tasting wiener for .69 cents, but hen again, she wouldn’t have set a record for being silly.
