The logo for the 2015 NBA All-Star Game was revealed and it’s awesome. A play on the New York City subway system, the logo encompasses the essence of New York.
According to nydailynews.com, “It’s a logo fitting of a Subway All-Star Weekend in New York.” The article also goes on to say the following:
The design of the 2015 All-Star Game logo, which the NBA will release on Thursday morning, was inspired by the public transportation signs around the city.
It’ll be fifth All-Star game in New York next February 15, but the first time the weekend will be shared by two boroughs. The Friday and Saturday events – which include the Slam Dunk and 3-point contests – will be held in Barclays Center. Sunday’s All-Star Game will be at Madison Square Garden.
As part of the agreement to split the All-Star Game, the Barclays Center will be given the chance to host Sunday’s All-Star game as early as 2017. According to the NBA, the 2012 All-Star Game in Orlando generated $95 million for the Florida city in “economic impact.”
New York City played host for the Super Bowl earlier this year and we can confirm that it was cold. New York is a great city, but we are fine if the NBA decided to take their All-Star talent to South Beach.
Will you be in New York for the NBA All-Star game? What do you think about the logo?
