When you’re invited to a dinner hosted by renowned barbecue chef Adam Perry Lang, you quickly RSVP with “What time should I be there?”. Our favorite grill master teamed up with George Dickel Tennessee Whisky to host a small, private dinner in West Hollywood. We were honored that we were saved some seats at this all-star table. While we’ve had the pleasure of dining with Lang in the past, our taste buds were ready to be treated again.
Chef Lang really raised the bar the first time we sat down to savor a delicious dinner. We were wondering if he could repeat the magic, or maybe even kick it up a notch once again. As it turns out, our palates are delighted to say that Lang continues to live up to his title as the master. Behind the grill, this guy knows exactly what he’s doing.

Instead of cooking by himself, this time Lang collaborated with the chefs at the swanky hot spot Lucques in West Hollywood to create a meal that tasted amazing and looked like a masterpiece. The exclusive dinner and whisky tasting mingled flavors in creative pairings and colorful presentations. While the food was being prepared, Lang told us about various homemade spices and demonstrated the best techniques for rubbing and seasoning meats. Once dinner was served, George Dickel’s National Brand Ambassador Doug Kragel led whisky tastings between each course. We now have a better understanding of selecting the right spirit for specific flavors, an art that’s easy to appreciate.
