Just what the world needs — more X-Men. If you tapped into social media recently, especially Twitter, you may have discovered the internet is buzzing about the new and first look trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse. Secret societies, the world’s first mutant, following blind leaders, and four followers like The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse are a few of the things referenced in the teaser for what’s sure to be a box office hit.
Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshiped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.
It’s been a forever since we have been interested in the X-Men franchise, but we have to admit after seeing the trailer, we are adding a movie date to our calendar for May 27, 2016. Does this trailer for the Bryan Singer directed “X-Men: Apocalypse” get you hyped? It’s definitely badass and epic.
