One of the perks of living in California is attending really cool “Hollywood” events. What’s even better is an occasional opportunity to meet some rad eclectic people and rub shoulders with the Who’s Who in Hollywood. So when an invite to a party hosted by skateboarding legend Rob Dyrdek landed in my email inbox, I jumped at the opportunity to attend. Who would miss an evening with LA’s finest hipsters, especially when the event was taking place at the Fantasy Factory? If you’ve ever seen the hit MTV series Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory, you know it’s an awesomely cool creative workspace designed for skateboarding and oh, yeah, work.
In celebration of the “ROB DYRDEK COLLECTION,” Rob’s new DC Shoes clothing line which rolls into PacSun stores this holiday season, he hosted a star-studded affair that included a performance by rapper Gucci Mane and a surprise appearance by Chris Brown. UFC fighter Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, Sarah Hyland from the hit show Modern Family, Bridget Marquardt (Girls Next Door) and Tyler Posey from the show Teen Wolf were among others in attendance.
The Fantasy Factory was all I imagined it would be, but most impressive were the storefronts created within the club setting for the event…yes, storefronts! Rob’s new collection was prominently displayed throughout the space in what resembled department store windows. Oh, yeah, and let’s not forget the free chicken & waffles and Belvedere Vodka. As I always say, you have to love a Hollywood party!
