Whether you are a NASCAR fan or hoops lover, sports coverage dominated television and the world wide web this weekend. Some interesting and not so amazing things went down on and off the track, court, field and in the ring. This weekend we learned that Mike Tyson’s ex-girlfriend ate pigeons, UFC’s Jon “Bones” Jones dislocated his big toe, Michael Jordan got married on a golf course, NASCAR pit crew members got into a brawl resulting in multiple arrests, and the Chicago Bulls mascot got a beat down from some of the Brooklyn Nets players before their epic four hour game. Yes, the weekend in sports was incredibly bizarre.
At the Lakers get swept game vs the Spurs. Dwight gets ejected…REALLY???! #NBAPlayoffs

The weekend kicked off with Mike Tyson admitting his ex-girlfriend served one of his pigeons for dinner. The NBA playoffs were almost as far-fetched as eating pigeons seeing both the Lakers and the Celtics getting swept. We all saw the Lakers going down hill the entire season, but it became surreal watching the very old San Antonio Spurs run all over them once Dwight Howard was ejected from what could be his last game for the Lakers. The Lakers haven’t been swept in the first round since 1967.
VIDEO: Nate the Great
The Bulls battled the Nets for nearly four hours in a triple overtime game after their mascot was beat up in the pre-game warm-ups by Nets players. Thanks to the play of Nate Robinson one of the shortest players in the NBA, the Bulls rallied to win game 4. Little Nate Robinson came up big and scored 23 points in the 4th Quarter.
In other NBA action, Kevin Durant went wild on and off the court as OKC took a 3-0 lead in their series against the Houston Rockets. The entire team stepped up in the absence of Russell Westbrook including the Oklahoma City Thunder’s ball boy. Police are currently investigating the ball boy for allegedly tweeting death threats to Rockets point guard Patrick Beverley after his collision with Russell Westbrook which left the OKC point guard sidelined for the rest of the playoffs. Westbrook suffered a torn meniscus when he slowed down to call a timeout in Game 2 after Beverley lunged for the steal crashing into his knee. To honor his teammate Durant showed up to the post game conference wearing a shiny grey leather jacket that is reminiscent of some of the gear Westbrook is known to wear.
VIDEO: Tony Stewart and Jimmie Johnson Spin Out
Kevin Harvick won a very thrilling Toyota Owner’s 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup series auto race at Richmond International Raceway that included a multi car pile up when Tony “Smoke” Stewart and Jimmie Johnson were involved in a spin out. Kyle Busch wasn’t able to get out the way and was also caught in the crash.

Joey Logano who is already in the hot seat with most NASCAR fans after his stunt a few weeks ago that sent Denny Hamlin to the hospital was hacked on Sunday. Logano was able to get back into his Twitter account, but not before the hacker sent out a Tweet stating, “Lose over 20lbs of body-fat in less than 2 weeks..”
Earlier in the week NASCAR docked Matt Kenseth 50 points and stripped him of his pole position award for racing with an engine part that was 2.7 grams too light. NASCAR also suspended his crew chief Jason Ratcliff for six races and fined him $200,000.
VIDEO: Nelson Piquet Jr Fight with Brian Scott 2013 NNS Richmond
A pit fight after the Nationwide Series race on Friday night left two crew members from Richard Childress Racing sitting in jail after they were taken into custody for an on-track altercation. Drivers Brian Scott and Nelson Piquet Jr. tangled on the track and in the pits afterwards. After the race Scott went over to Piquet’s car and was shoved and then kicked in the groin prompting the crews for both drivers to go at it. Those arrested have been released and a court date has yet to be set.
In other sports news, Jon “Bones” Jones defended his UFC light heavyweight title at UFC 159 with a TKO win over Chael Sonnen, but he broke his big toe in the process.
