It’s that time of year again, the New York International Auto Show, where one of the standouts was Nissan’s flagship, the GT-R, now nicely updated in power and appearance. The 2017 model features Nissan’s newest signature, the “V-motion” grille. It’s a bit bigger this year, providing more cooling to the engine, plus we love the new matte chrome and mesh patterned finish.
Adding to the pure race car look, the front bumpers and spoiler sit right below the headlamps, a change that generates impressive downforce, a must for the true sports and racing feel.
The aerodynamics are better, with wider side sills to push air around the car, and the GT-R’s signature four-ring taillights are combined with new side vents and four exhaust tips. From the rear, this beauty definitely looks wider and more imposing, an aggressive, sportier style we really like.

The GT-R is already award-winning, but now the 3.8 liter V6 24-valve twin-turbocharged engine has been bumped up to 565 horsepower at 6800 rpm…that’s 20 horsepower more than last year, and 4 more pounds-foot of torque, thank to individual ignition-timing control.
Of course, there are many, many more updates and details you’ll appreciate, see them for yourself at nissanusa.com, but suffice to say this is one of the best handling automobiles out there, and now, thanks to the 2017 updates, a smart choice for a new Nissan this summer.
