Porsche 911 50th Anniversary Edition

The legendary Porsche 911 just turned 50 and Porsche is celebrating with a special limited edition version of the iconic model. The central point of reference for all other Porsche series, the 911 has been the heart of the Porsche brand. Considered the quintessential sports car, more than 820,000 Porsche 911s have been built in it’s 50 year history.

For the anniversary 911 two unique colors and 1963 units will be produced worldwide, a number that represents the year of the 911 world premiere. The special edition 911 will be available in a darker graphite grey as well as a lighter geyser grey metallic and will feature the wide body, which is typically reserved for the all-wheel drive Carrera 4 models. Other features you can expect that have contributed to the 50-year success story of the 911 include dynamic cornering lights, a specially tuned PASM suspension system, a sports exhaust, 20-inch five-spoke alloy wheels inspired by the classic Fuchs wheels, special badges, different wing mirrors, a bespoke chrome trim, and speed.

For the US market, the 911 50th Anniversary Edition will be equipped as standard with a Powerkit, which increases engine performance to 430 hp and the ability to go from zero to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds (3.8 with PDK) reaching a top speed of 186 mph (185 with PDK). Porsche will present the limited edition model in time for the 50th anniversary of the 911 at the IAA motor show in Frankfurt on September 12, 2013 and Porsche dealers this fall staring at $124,100.
